Paroxysmal sleep disorders in children with epileptic encephalopathies and autism spectrum disorders

Purpose - to determine the prevalence of sleep disorders in children with epileptic encephalopathies and autism spectrum disorder (ASD); evaluate effectiveness neuroadaptogenic «Silenta» treatment this group. Materials methods. We examined 50 clinical manifestations ASD aged 2 8 years (mean age was 4.3 years±1.5), including 31 boys 19 girls. The examination included anamnesis clarify features pre- perinatal period, neurological examination, video EEG monitoring during night for hours, survey parents on quality using Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ). All were divided into groups depending features: Group 1 28 who had seizures at time or (children encephalopathies); 22 without seizures. Children from 1st group prescribed neuroadaptogen 30 days. Results. higher sub-scales «Difficulty falling asleep», «Parasomnia» overall score CSHQ-A scale. results indicate a negative impact frequency paroxysmal disorders. determined questionnaire before after treatment. incidence decreased 85.7% 53.6%, 63.6% 22.7%. In both statistically significant reduction proportion course «Silenta». Conclusions.
